Gunner Chapman helps England into Euro Final

Katie Chapman was in the thick of the action as England booked their place in the Final of the European Championships in Finland.

The Arsenal Ladies midfielder played the full 90 minutes plus extra time as Hope Powell's side saw off Holland in a tense Semi-Final in Tampere.

England opened the scoring when Eniola Aluko squared her pass to Kelly Smith on the hour-mark and the former Gunner slotted the ball home. But Holland hit back three minutes later when poor defending allowed Marlous Pieete to fire in the equaliser.

England missed a host of chances to restore their lead before substitute Jill Scott finally headed the winner with five minutes of extra time remaining.

Germany or Norway await England as they prepare for their first major showpiece since losing to Sweden in the inaugural European Championships in 1984.

Arsenal Ladies captain Faye White has skippered England at the tournament but she suffered a fractured and dislocated cheekbone during the Quarter-Final victory over Finland. The centre back could return for the Final, where she may wear a protective mask.

Laura Bassett is the third Arsenal Ladies player in the England squad and she will be hoping to play a part in Thursday's big game.
