GRASOF SET TO RECEIVE TOGO, GHANA OTHERS FOR AKPABIO UNITY CUP.

The South-South chapter of Grassroots Sports Federation is set to receive teams from Ghana, Togo Cameroun and Benin Republic coming for the forthcoming Chief (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio National U-18 unity Cup billed for 18 to27 September,2009

The co-coordinator of the body and Tournament Director of the football fiesta disclosed this to newsmen in his office over the weekend. Comrade John Ekpenyong informed that this year’s tournament will not only feature teams from Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria but will involve teams from other African countries.

Comrade Ekpenyong promised that this year’s tournament will be the first of its kind ever in the history of GRASOF Competitions and reminded interested teams to register for the tournament and pick up their customized jerseys immediately.

He assumed that there will be no pre-determining of who will win any match as things will be done in order of fair play.

Meanwhile a deadline has not yet been fixed as closing date for registration of interested teams. Teams are encouraged to pick their registration form at the South-South head office of GRASOF No. 15 Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo.
