Shittu eyes Bolton exit

Shittu is keen to be playing regularly this season as he looks to safeguard his place in the Nigeria squad ahead of next summer's World Cup finals.

The signing of Zat Knight has pushed Shittu further down the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium and Trotters boss Gary Megson has admitted he is open to offers for the powerful defender.

Portsmouth are believed to be keen on signing the former QPR and Watford man, while Birmingham, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have all been credited with an interest in the pacey central defender.

Shittu's agent, Rachel Anderson, has confirmed the 28-year-old is weighing up his options and is interested in a move so that he can be playing regular first team football.

"Bolton have agreed they will listen to offers for Danny and we are considering them now," Anderson told skysports.com.

"Danny is keen to be playing on a regular basis and he will weigh up all offers that come his way.

"There has been a great deal of interest in Danny as he has a lot of experience and talent and hopefully we will resolve his future soon."
