The Manchester United academy product sees no reason why Owen cannot return to his best under the guidance of Sir Alex.
LA Galaxy star David Beckham, who was sent off after 17 minutes of play against Seattle Sounders recently, believes that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is the best person to help Michael Owen recapture his best form.
Owen could prove to be a canny purchase by the Red Devils, who acquired the former Newcastle United player on a free transfer, warding off interest from the publicly-keen Hull City.
Beckham is quoted by The People as saying, "I'm so happy for Michael that he's there at Manchester United. There's not many other clubs he could have gone to that will give him the confidence and get him scoring goals again.
"Everyone in the England squad wants to see that because he's a great talent and a great goal scorer.
"To have a manager like Sir Alex looking after him, and with the talent he's going to be playing with and playing against - to be up against the defenders they've got in training week-in, week-out - is going to make him sharper."
Beckham added, "Sir Alex Ferguson is a great psychologist and I don't think it's going to take long because a player of Michael's talent doesn't lose it overnight.
"Michael showed in the Community Shield last weekend that he gets in the right places. Once he gets his full sharpness back he'll score goals," 'Becks' affirmed.
