Xavi: Barcelona Miss Eto’o But Ibrahimovic Is A Beast

Barca’s midfield maestro isn’t the first to admit that ‘Samu’ is sorely missed at the Camp Nou।

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not only have to live up to expectations and pressure from the fans and media, but he has tough shoes to fill if he wants to convince his team-mates at Barcelona.A number of players at the Camp Nou have already lavished high praise on Ibra’s predecessor, Samuel Eto’o, and midfielder Xavi is the latest to admit that the dressing room is missing the Cameroonian striker’s influence.“The truth is that Eto’o has left such a mark on and off the field that it has become quite clear that we miss him,” he told La Sexta. But the 29-year-old vice-captain didn’t completely blow off the €66 million man, ‘Ibracadabra’, either.“Physically, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a beast. He has everything to succeed,” he said, before going on to add, “But without wishing to make comparisons, Samuel is already part of this club’s history.“With Zlatan, we will have to see how he goes.”The Swede has yet to play a game for Barca due to a hand injury but he could make his debut on August 19 against Manchester City in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
